Choir Trip

We don't currently do a summer programme so we thought singers may be interested in a choir trip to keep the contact during the summer months.

Top vocal group The Sixteen not only do concerts but have an active education programme as well. This includes holding Choral Workshops alongside some of their concerts - unfortunately not the ones we normally attend in Durham Cathedral.

On 13 July they are holding a workshop in the Tithe Barn,  Carlisle led by former member of The Sixteen and choral conductor Libby Crabtree and singer and practical scholar Sally Dunkley. We are running  a choir trip to take part in this. Places on these workshops are limited to 75 in total and sell out quickly so if you'd like to join our trip please contact us soon.

The pieces that will be worked on this year are:
James MacMillan When you see millions of mouthless dead
Sheppard ‘Agnus Dei’ from Cantate Mass

We will leave Richmond School at 10.00am by coach. The workshop starts at 1.00pm so there should be time to get there and have lunch before it starts. We should arrive back in Richmond at about 7.00pm. The cost is £55 for the workshop ticket and coach with any surplus going to choir funds. There is currently space on the coach for non-singing partners/friends who would like to visit Carlisle for an afternoon, price £25.

If you are interested please email Janet Hall.
